Shillong, Dec 10: Department of Fisheries, Government of Meghalaya, in collaboration with National Fish Development Board organized the awareness campaign regarding different schemes under Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Government of India on 9th December, 2024 at the Directorate of Fisheries, Shillong, Meghalaya.
While inaugurating the campaign, Madam A. L. Mawlong, MCS, Director of Fisheries, Meghalaya has appreciated and expressed thankfulness the efforts of Department of Fisheries, Government of India and National Fish development Board and motivated the participants to come up for enhancing fish production in the States by availing benefits from different schemes PMMSY, PMMKSSY, FIDF, KCC, Entrepreneurship model, Aquaculture Insurance, GAIS etc. for enhancing fish production.
Shri. A. K. Borah, OIC, NFDB NERC, welcomed the participants and briefed the objective of the event. Dr. Sanjay Kumar Das, Principal Scientist, ICAR RC NEH, Umiam, Meghalaya and Dr. Simaku Borah, Scientist, ICAR CIFRI, Guwahati interacted with the trainees and offered their valuable technical guidance on different aspects of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development in the state to encourage the participants. 50 participants comprising Officials from NIFPHATT, CIFNET, NFDB, State Fisheries Department, Fish Farmers, representatives from FFPOs, Fisheries Cooperative Society, Women farmers etc. attended the program.
