Shillong, Jan 16: The Police of Pasteur Beat House to day apprehended the accused person from Boucher Road who attacked the lady in Upper Lachumiere On 13, Janauary, 2026.
A written FIR was received that an unknown miscreant entered the house of Smti. Devi Basumatary 42 years at her residence at Upper Lachumiere, Shillong on the 13th January, 2026 at around 02:00pm with the intention to rob the house.
When the victim saw him inside the room, she tried to lock him in but he attacked her by hitting her on the head with an iron rod and also threatened to kill her. He then took her sling bag containing her mobile phone and cash and fled away. She suffered injuries on her person and was later taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Accordingly, police swung into action to nab the culprit. Investigation was conducted and after collecting all material evidences, the accused person was identified as Shri Navin Sunar 43 years.
Today 16h January, 2026 at around 4:30 pm, the Special party of Pasteur Beat House lead by in charge Sub-Inspector Arki Warlang apprehended the accused from Boucher Road.In this regard, a case vide Laitumkhrah P.S CNo 05(01)2026 331(7))304(2)/351(3)/127(2) BNS 2023 has been registered and the accused arrested.
