Shillong, Feb 02: The Government of Meghalaya has notified the preparation of Electoral Rolls of every constituency of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council in accordance with rule 129 of the Assam and Meghalaya Autonomous Districts (Constitution of District Councils) Rules, 1951, as amended for the purpose of holding the General Elections, 2026 for re-constitution of the said Council on the expiration of the present duration thereof.
Calendar of events are as follows: Publication of Draft Electoral Roll {Rule 129 (1)} on 04-02-2026; Last date of filing claims and objections {Rule 129 (3)} on 18-02-2026; Disposal of claims and objections {Rule 129 (3)} on 02-03-2026 and Publication of the Final Electoral Roll {Rule 129 (4)} on 06-03-2026.
