Ampati, Feb 23: The Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), under the Department of Labour, Employment and Skill Development, Government of Meghalaya, successfully organised a Recruitment Drive at Ampati in South West Garo Hills today, drawing an overwhelming response from local youth and job aspirants.
The programme was graced by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, Ms. Anendya Raajsshre, IAS, who attended the short inaugural session as Chief Guest. In her address, she described the recruitment drive as one of the first initiatives of its kind in the district, highlighting it as a novel and forward-looking intervention by the Government.
She emphasised that such platforms directly connect job seekers with employers, thereby reducing information gaps and expanding access to employment opportunities both within and beyond the state.
Approximately 600 participants attended the drive, comprising primarily unemployed youth, aspiring candidates seeking placements outside the state, and individuals exploring overseas employment prospects. The strong turnout reflects the growing demand for structured employment facilitation and enhanced career mobility in the district.
The Recruitment Drive forms part of a broader outreach initiative being organised across districts to widen employment access, strengthen job linkages, and create accessible platforms for youth engagement. By decentralising employment services and taking such initiatives to district headquarters, the Government aims to ensure equitable access to opportunities and promote inclusive growth across Meghal
