Shillong, Feb 23: The 5 days Inter State Youth Exchange Program (ISYEP) held from 19th to 23rd February 2026 at Youth Hostel, Shillong hosting 37 youths (24 female and 13 male contingent) from Mizoram organised by MY Bharat, Shillong Meghalaya, MoYAS, GoI with active support from Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Meghalaya came to a successful conclusion today with a valedictory function in which certificates and mementos were handed out to the participants.
Over the course of the 5 days, the participants were introduced to the rich history, culture, languages, customs, food habits through presentations by various Resource persons and visited historical and important sites of Meghalaya in and around Shillong.
The objective of the program is to facilitate cultural exchange and enhance understanding among youths of paired states, strengthening unity and integrity of the country; and in turn, a group of 37 participants from Meghalaya will visit Mizoram in March.
The Inter State Youth Exchange Program was formally launched with an ‘Inaugural function’ at Youth Hostel, Shillong on 20th February 2026, which was graced by Shri DD D.D. Shira, MCS, Director, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya as the Chief Guest, Lt. Col.
Saurabh Chaudhary (SM), 58 GTC, Happy Valley, Shillong as the Guest of Honour; F. Rumnong, State Nodal Officer (NSS), Shri. Bobby Wahlang, State Youth Officer, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt. of Meghalaya and Shri Waquil Ahmed, 1st officer, 2nd Bn, NCC Shillong as special guests as well as Shri D. Rapsang, Rtd. Deputy Director, NYKS Meghalaya, Shri. Dipankar Nandi, Education Counsellor, NCERT, Shillong and Sh Michael T. Mate, DD MY Bharat Shillong as guests.
