Shillong, March 24: In a significant boost to youth employment in the region, IndiGo, India’s largest airline, conducted a walk-in campus interview for the position of Cabin Crew at the training centre of Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. The recruitment drive was organized in collaboration with Emporium Skills Training Institute (ESTI).
A total of 56 female candidates from across the North Eastern region participated in the selection process. Following a rigorous assessment, five candidates were successfully selected: Deilana Shallam, Mahi Sah, Cassandra War, Silveris Mary Lyndem, and Ritika.
This marks the second time that Don Bosco Youth Centre has hosted a direct Cabin Crew recruitment drive in partnership with ESTI, reflecting the growing confidence of leading industry players in the Centre’s training ecosystem.
The collaboration follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September 2025, aimed at providing employment-linked professional training and placement opportunities in the fields of aviation, hospitality, and international cruise services for the educated unemployed youth of Meghalaya and the wider North East.
Notably, this was the fourth campus interview conducted under the MoU, with several more recruitment drives scheduled in the coming months, involving both national and international companies.
Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shillong, has steadily emerged as a key hub for youth empowerment and skill development in the region. Through its various training programmes and industry partnerships, the Centre has facilitated job placements for numerous young people, enabling them to secure meaningful employment in India and abroad. Its collaboration with ESTI further strengthens its mission of bridging the gap between education and employment.
Through this ongoing initiative, ESTI will continue to provide specialized training at the Centre, equipping candidates with industry-relevant skills and offering access to employment opportunities in over 20 countries worldwide.
