Shillong, March 31: The LPG supply situation in the State, the Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Meghalaya provides the following updated position for public information and clarity.
The Directorate reiterates that there is no issue with Domestic LPG supply in the State, and the supply situation continues to remain stable. The latest verified data confirms that supplies have normalised and distribution is being carried out smoothly across districts.
With regard to Domestic LPG, during the period 25th to 27th March 2026, a total of 22,094 cylinders were supplied across the State. The day-wise distribution indicates steady and adequate supply, with 5,558 cylinders on 25.03.2026, 9,662 cylinders on 26.03.2026, and 6,874 cylinders on 27.03.2026. The peak supply was recorded on 26th March, reflecting improved dispatch and distribution efficiency.
Supply across districts has been assessed as normalised, with major contributions from key distributors including Sukbha Gas Agency, Meghalaya Gas Agency, Rymbai Gas Agency, and Ripnar Gas Agency.
In terms of logistics, a total of 68 truck loads (324-cylinder capacity each) were received during this period, comprising 17 loads on 25.03.2026, 30 loads on 26.03.2026, and 21 loads on 27.03.2026, indicating strengthened supply chain movement and improved coordination with Oil Marketing Companies.
It is also informed that for Non-PMUY domestic consumers, the LPG refill booking interval has been revised to 25 days, and for PMUY consumers, it has been fixed at 45 days. Consumers are advised that if refill bookings are made within the stipulated interval, delivery will be ensured within the prescribed timelines. There is no need for panic, and consumers are requested to adhere to the prescribed booking cycle.
With regard to Commercial LPG, the supply position shows gradual and steady restoration. The day-wise distribution includes 174 (19 kg) and 35 (47.5 kg) cylinders on 25.03.2026, 120 (19 kg) cylinders on 26.03.2026, 240 (19 kg) and 15 (47.5 kg) cylinders on 27.03.2026, and 195 (19 kg) cylinders on 28.03.2026.
Key agencies contributing to commercial supply include Ri-Bhoi Gas Agency, Nangkiew Irat Indane, Rymbai Gas Agency, Dohling Indane, Riwar Mihngi Indane, and Tura Indane. While commercial LPG continues to face some constraints due to national-level capping, supply is being maintained at moderate but steady levels, with priority being accorded to essential and high-impact sectors.
Overall, the LPG supply situation across Meghalaya during the period 25th–28th March 2026 remains stable and well-distributed. Domestic LPG continues to account for the bulk of supply, ensuring that household demand is fully supported, while commercial LPG supply is steadily improving.
There are no major supply gaps, and allocation across districts remains balanced. The Directorate continues to maintain daily inspections at the District and Sub-Divisional levels, along with daily reporting to the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, to ensure real-time monitoring and prompt response to any emerging issues.
