Blood donation camp organised by Art of Living in Shillong

Shillong, May 14: The Art of Living, Shillong organised a voluntary blood donation camp in Shillong  as part of the birth anniversary celebration of its founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at Pasteur Institute on Tuesday.

Several voluntary blood donors participated in the camp.

In its efforts to spread awareness of making safe blood available for transfusion, Art of Living, Shillong regularly reaches out to various groups and motivate them to donate blood regularly and voluntarily.

The Art of Living Bureau of communication state Coordinator Manikuntala Choudhury said that the objective of the campaign is to raise awareness about the importance of donating blood and collecting blood for the needy.

She said Art of Living  will organize more such blood donation camps as part of its social responsibility.

Youth are encouraged to regularly volunteer for blood donation and carry forward the torch of selfless service towards achieving total voluntary blood donation.

The camp also witnessed active participation people who volunteered to donate blood for this noble cause.

Donors voluntarily come to donate in camps. We in art of living work out a small campaign to motivate people for blood donation.

The blood donors were screened and tested by the doctors before they donated the blood.

With the overwhelming response from donors the camp started at 11 am  and went up to 2pm in the afternoon.(SP News)
