Shillong, May 18: The Odisha chapter of “RACE” (Research Of Adult And Children Education) organised it’s 12th National level competition 2014 at
Shillong in collaboration with Army Public School (APS) Happy Valley
58 GTC. This literary and cultural event has been organised in
Meghalya for the first time. The event was conducted on 16th & 17th
may 2014 at APS 58 GTC Happy Valley.
Mrs Namita Goswami Thakur Principal, APS 58 GTC, informed that
besides the students of APS Happy Valley 58 GTC, KV Happy Valley and
St Mary’s High School Shillong a total of 40 selected students
from various schools of Orissa, Chattisgarh And Madhya Pradesh also
participated in the various literary and cultural competitions
including Debates, Essay Writing, Quiz, Solo Song, Solo Dance,
Painting etc . The students of local schools also organised a variety
show depicting the culture of north east with the title “rhythms of
north east”,which was received by the audience with a great applause.
The students of Martin Luther Christian University Shillong were also
part of the cultural programme.
Mr Priyadarshi Nayak, the chairman “RACE” and Principal DPS Sagar,
Madhya Pradesh was highly appreciative of the talents of the children
of APS Happy Valley and the other participating schools. He also
appreciated the rich culture of Meghalaya. Brigadier Manohar Thomas
commandant 58 GTC and chairman APS Happy Valley complimented the
Principal and staff for having organised this first ever mega event
in Shillong successfully. He later awarded the prizes for the various
competitions to the participating students .(SP News)
