Will look after the election DC assured Qualified Grade IV Association

Shillong, Jan 16: The aggrieved qualified grade IV employees under the banner of the Association of Qualified Grade IV Association-2011, East Khasi Hills involved in a serious clash with the police yesterday during the sit in protest met with the deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills today to discuss their problems at length besides urging upon him to expedite steps to address their issues.

It may be mentioned here that the 83 agitators who were detained by the Police and district administration after they did not seek permission to carry out the protest even after the deputy Commissioner had promulgated an order under section 144 CrPC prohibiting agitations near the Secretariat were rounded up in a bus and taken to Mawngap police station on the outskirts of the city but later in the night they were released with an assurance from the district administration that they will be allowed to meet the deputy commissioner.

Out of the 83 agitators the district administration allowed only five-member delegation of the Association to meet the Deputy Commissioner today.

Speaking to media persons after meeting the Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal,  Bantei Kur bah president of the association informed that the meeting with the DC was positive  besides he also informed that the deputy commissioner had given them an assurance that he will look into the matter which will be done after the assembly election is over.

Stating that the association has called off their agitation for the time being Kurbah said, “We will wait until the election gets over” adding that if the government is not doing nothing they will take their own course of action.(SP News)
