Shillong, January 26: On the 64th year of the Republic Day the Governor of Meghalaya Mr Ranjit Shekhar Mooshahary
appeal to the militant out fit to settle down any problems and grievances through peaceful mean . He appreciates the tripartite talk between the ANVC, the Government of India and the Government of Meghalaya in bringing peace and stability in the state.
The governor of Meghalaya congratulates the police department and the central police forces for curtailing militant activities in the state of Meghalaya. He said its thought their effort that militant activities has been put down. At present only Gora hills where one militant group is creating threat and intimation to people.
In his speeches the governor mention the boundary problems which the state has both International and Interstate boundary. On the international border he said the resent protocol sign between the two countries India bang Bangladesh have give much hope that very soon the two countries will put thing on ground realities.
On Mining activities in the state he said Meghalaya has been bless with numerous minerals, like coal, Uranium, Quarts, Lime stone ect. The governor insists that proper utilization of these minerals is required for the betterment of the next generation to come. Scientific mining is need so that it will not be accursed for the future generation.
In his address, the governor touches much point, like education, sport, Village participation and many more. He also appreciate the people of the state because they are peace loving people, its through their cooperation that many calibration in the sate pass off peace fully.
On this occasion the governor of Meghalaya remind all audience who are present in the Republ;ic Day Calibration at Polo Ground that the leaders of our county , to name ne a few, like Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bos , Rani Lamximi Bai, U Tirot Sing, U Kiang Nangbah, u Patogan A Sangma etc, they have fought the colonial rule and to make India Free.
Is indeed on this day 63th years ago the people of India give themselves the constitution which today we celebrate the republic day. On this Republic Day celebration the governor hoist the trie-colour flag and took the salute of the contingent from different Para- military. (SP News)
