Shillong, Feb 03: The District Magistrate of North Garo Hills said that he has recived an information that some individuals and organizations are collecting money illegally from coal trucks plying on N.H. 62, acting on the basis of such complaints and information received from reliable sources, verification was conducted at the field level and upon such verification it was reported that illegal collection of money is rampant on N.H. 62 under North Garo Hills District and this is against the law.
The District Magistrate felt that this may lead to a breach of peace and public tranquility and immediate necessary action has to be taken up, it has also been brought to the notice of the undersigned through different reliable sources that some individuals, groups of persons, organizations etc. are also collecting money from coal trucks plying along the roads from Damra to Mendipathar and then to Thapa Daranchi up to the boundary of East Garo Hills along the road.
Base on the finding the District Magistrate do hereby prohibit such illegal collection of money all over the roads in the whole of North Garo Hills District by any individual, groups of persons, associations or organizations.(SP News)
