Shillong, November 04: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma on the last day of “ka shad Nongkrem” released the souvenir of the hima khynriem which tell the indebt of the Nongkrem Dance. This souvenir will help the people to know better what i the ‘Nongkrem Dance is’.
Speaking at the function, the chief minister said that state government, central government and the hima should work hand in hand in order to preserved the culture and identity of our people, the amount sanction for the hima khynriem itself show that the government is alive of the issued.
The Chairman Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya traditional chief Shri John F Kharshiing in his speech urged the sste government to mention one website dedicated particularly to the traditional write up of the people of Meghalaya, by the art and culture department.
Others who speak in the function include Paiem Dr. Balajied S. Syiem, Syiem of Hima Khyrim, Welcoming the Chief guest, Dr. Mukul Sangma and other dignatories during the release of the souvenir ‘Pomblang bad Shad Hima Khyrim’ on 3rd November in the Sacred State House.(SP News)
