Shillong, May 14: The State public Work Department got sanction for Rs 180 core for payment of land compensation and for payment to line department, this has come as a big relief for the PWD to speed up the road construction from seven limes upper Shillong to Jingal in Garo Hills via Nongstoin.
PWD official told SP News Agency the amount sanction was divided into two section, one section is for payment of land compensation, to thus people whose land and property where affected due to road construction.
The second part of the sanction is the payment that has to be made to Line Department, like the PHE, MeECL, and Irrigation department. In the course of this road construction, many PHE pipe line have to shift their alignment, the electric poll and irrigation pipe line also.
From the PWD they have already completed their assessment when the money come the amount will be deposited with the Deputy Commissioner concern for disbursement. The state PWD fill that after the payment is made they could move fast in cmplteing the road construction from seven mile upper Shillong to Jingjal in Garo Hills.(SP News)
