Williamnagar June 07: The Meghalaya police today at around 12.30 Noon busted the Camp of the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) at Adogre in East Garo Hills District, the police firmly belief that the Commander In Chief of the militant out fit Sohan D Shira was camping in this new camp.
The Police busted the camp and from this camp they recover many documents and one of the document show the demand not e from the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA). With this document the GNLA and the ULFA are working hand in glove.
While retuning from the Camp the Superintendent of Police of East Garo Hills District Mr J K F Marak said that they where fired by the militant,the police retaliated and the encounter lasted for some time.
From the encounter site the police recover two Pistols and four carbines of 7.65, they also recover IED and electronic detonator. The police said that the GNLA commander In Chief left the camp just before the police reached the spot.(SP News)
