Shillong November 20: The United Democratic Party (UDP) in their four hours long discussion dare not to come out with the clear statement that they have expel Mr Ardent Basaiawmoit from the party for his anti-party activities.
The Working President of the UDP Mr Paul Lyngdoh just made an announcement that the party will take action against the Nongkrem lehislator and they will fill out an alternative candidate from the party.
Failure to comply to the show-cause notice served by the United Democratic Party (UDP), the party on Tuesday unanimously decided to set an alternative candidate from Nongkrem Constituency even as it said that disciplinary actions would be taken against sitting legislator for anti-party activities.
The decision was taken in view of the failure of Basaiawmoit to comply with the show-cause notice which has already expired.
UDP Working president Paul Lyngdoh said, “The Party is all Ardent Basaiawmoit from Nongkrem constituency,” UD P working President Paul Lyngdoh said here.
During the four hour long meeting it was decided that the party will take appropriate actions against two of its members including Nongkrem MLA and West Khasi hills unit member for their indiscipline and anti-party activities.
Besides, he also said that the decision was taken in view of the failure of Basaiawmoit to comply with the show-cause notice which has already expired.”
The parliamentary board meeting today was chaired by the party’s president Dr Donkupar Roy and was attended by legislators, MDCs and presidents of the different units.(SP News)
