Shillong, Nov 16: A six-day Short Term Course in Soft Skills was organised in the lecture hall of the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong on 16th November, 2021where 26 participants from various parts of India attended.
Director incharge Prof S Rama Rao extended a warm welcome to the participants as well as the faculty of HRDC and also expressed his happiness on the overwhelming response from the participants.
He lauded the efforts of the Course Coordinator, Dr. Kuheli Biswas Das for covering the various aspects of Soft Skills like Personality Development,Communication Skills, Conflict Management, teamwork etc.
He added that UGC- HRDC, NEHU have worked very hard for the last fifteen years and have had a greater outreach to enable teachers from different parts of India to update themselves in their respective subject.
This was to upgrade their skills and societal leadership and great resources have been spent to give the best learning experience and greater skills so that the quality in education and social skills is enhanced.
Dr K B Das in her speech said that the programme aims at empowering the skills in self-development and personality development and that teaching requires a wide range of skills which is divided into two parts,.
The technical skills, which involves the knowledge of the subject and soft skills, which deals with inter and intra-relationshipsto enable to interact harmoniously with one another and to adapt to the ever changing scenario.
