The cadaver of the three decease will not allowed to bring to Simth village

Smith, August 17: The Dorbar of the Smith Village which assemble today at Madan Smith has decided that they will not allowed to bring the cadaver of the three decease to the village at the same time the Dorbar will go and meet Lambha Nongrum at Nazareth Hospital which he is under treatment to fine out fact from him.

The three person lynched by the mob of the Smith village Friday night were identified as  Yestly Mawthoh 70, Bestly Mawthoh 65 and DF Nongdhar 30 years .  The body was taken to Shillong Civil Hospital for postmortem.

The dorbar condemn the action taken by the police on Friday night for using tears gas to disperse the mob and smashing public vehicle at the same time they apologies to what has happen to the police personal. They did not intentionally do it but it happens so. The dorbar was chair by the Sordar of Smith Village Kynsai M Syiem.

There were four police person who were injured while they were trying their best to control the angry mob, the injured include SP City Vivek Syiem, the officer in charge of Madanriting police station and two constable.

The incident that which accede escalate is on  August  14 night, unknown miscreants assaulted Shri Lambha Nongrum (25 yrs) at Smit village in east khasi hills district and the next day the villages found him lying unconscious  and he was shifted to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.

However, the cause on his assault could not be ascertained as he was unconscious. Suspecting the above incident to be a case of witchcraft, on Aug. 16 around 9 pm, the residents of Smit Wah Iing Syiem village, apprehended three persons, namely,  Yestly Mawthoh 70, Besly Mawthoh 65, and  Duh S. Nongdhar 30 years

They were  allegedly for being involved in the attack on the victim and fatally assaulted them. On receipt of information, Magistrate and Police rushed to the spot where the  crowd of about of two thousand pelted stones at the Police party.

As a result, four personnel sustained injuries and twelve vehicles including one Police vehicles were damaged. Later, the situation was brought under control and the dead bodies were retrieved and sent to Civil Hospital Shillong for Postmortem.(SP News)
