AMPATI, NOVEMBER, 24: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma, while inaugurating the Multi Facility Centre, constructed under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) of Border Areas Development Program at Monabari under Betasing C&RD Block in South-West Garo Hills on Saturday, reiterated his government commitment towards all-round development of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sangma stressed the importance of Multi Facility Centers and urged the people of the area to utilize the facilities being provided by the government under various flag-ship programs. Various trainings, under various flag-ship programs of the Govt., according to Dr. Sangma, will be imparted in the multi-facility centers to help the people stand on their own feet.
Stressing on the importance of partnership between the Govt. departments and the general public, Dr. Sangma urged the people of the area to render helping hands in order to bring infrastructural development. He also highlighted the aspects of socio-economic development for improving of the standard of living.
during the inaugural function, the Mahila Samity, representing the mothers of Monabari and its adjoining areas, submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding establishment of a branch of SBI for which the plot of land had already been identified, inclusion of Monabari under urban area, upgrading of PHC to CHC, amalgamation of ME School with secondary school and setting up of battalion headquarters at Thakuranbari.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Mr. Nipen Koch, the local MDC of Betasing.Earlier, Mrs. Eva Gunme R Marak, Assistant Director of Border Areas Development, offered the welcome address while Mrs. Sangeeta P Marak, BADO, Ampati, proposed the vote of thanks.

Addressing the gathering in Koch, Dr. Sangma highlighted the importance of and urged the people of the area to utilise the facilities being provided by the government under various flag-ship programs. Besides highlighting the aspects of socio-economic development for improving of the standard of living, he also urged the people of the area to keep their respective villages neat and clean. Further, Dr. Sangma urged the parents of the area to motivate their children to pursue academic excellence.
