Muga Eri Silkworm Seed Organization organised foyr day training to is official at Resubelpara

Tura, July 18: Muga Eri Silkworm Seed Organization,  Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has organized Technology Orientation Programme  for Staff of Directorate of Sericulture, Meghalaya from 18th July 2023 to 22nd July 2023 at P-3 Seed Station, Rompara, Resubelpara, North Garo Hills, Meghalaya.

A total of 25 state government officials from North Garo Hills District attended the training programme. Dr. Vikram Kumar, Scientist – C, P-3 Unit, Rompara discussed the objectives of this training program. He also elaborated training schedule with its positive impact.

Dr.  BN Sarkar, Scientist-D, MESSO, CSB, Govt. of India was Chief Guest and Head of the Training programme. The chief guest told how sericulture can generate employment and through muga culture Central Silk Board.

The Ministry of Textiles, Govt of India takes a major role for conducting the various training programme for the socio economic development of this district.

In the training he also focused on how Muga Culture activities have helped to curb the violence in North Garo Hills. He was hopeful that traditionally practiced muga culture will definitely improve economic status of Garo Hills and generate new employment opportunities.

Mr. Mahasankar Majumdar Scientist-C and  OIC, MESSO, CSB, P 4 Unit, Mendipathar told that sound seed gives sound sericulture and he also discussed about the quality measure done in his P-4 unit, Mendipathar.

Mr. Majumdar also told that after completion the training certificate will given to the trainee Mr. Sony G. Momin, Farm manager, Baghmara and Smt Nikchira Marak, Reeling Manager, Resubelpara also present as a special guest. The programme was followed by a technical programme where different scientists from Central Silk Board will come and give their valuable lecture to the trainee.
