Chairman of the NDFB Ranjan Daimary out in Bail, hope for peace in Bodoland

 

Guwahati, June 23: Ranjan Daimary, the chairman of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland, NDFB,
was released on bail from the Guwahati central Jail, early in the morning at around 8.30 am, to day.

A long wait for the people of the state and Bodo community who are
looking forward to the solution of the problem of the NDFB seems to have seen a
ray of hope on a hot cloudy Sunday morning with the release of the NDFB chairman.
A lot of supporters waited outside the central jail to welcome Ranjan
Daimary, with flowers and “Arnais” and holding pictures of the leader in their
hands.

Members of the Bodo women justice forum were also present on this occasion
including members of other organizations and common people. “I hope that under the
free sky he will take the right decision for the solution of the political problem
of the Bodo community, this I am saying not only as a family member but also as a
BNC worker” Said Anjali Daimary, sister of Ranjan Daimary.“We are here to
welcome Ranjan Daimary because we are looking for peace, and peace talks with the
government to our demands” says ,Bisheshwar Basumatary.

Talking to the media Ranjan Daimary said “, I am out it bail, and I
hope I can be a part of the peace process, that I can be a part to the
solution of the conflict, I thank and I am grateful to those people who have make
tremendous effort to take forward the cease fire and the peace process, I want to
make this wonderful moment a turning point for the society.”
Ranjan Daimary, was brought to India after his arrest in Bangladesh after
the ULFA leader were caught in Bangladesh. There were 14 cases registered against
the Chairman including the 30th serial Blast that shook the entire country.(SP News)
