DC of EKH mandates comprehensive fire safety audits across all establishments  

Shillong, Feb 20: In view of the rising cases of fire incidents in residential, commercial, educational and office buildings under East Khasi Hills district, the Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson (DDMA), East Khasi Hills has informed that comprehensive fire safety audits needs to be conducted across all categories of establishments in the district.

The directive applies to all commercial establishments, educational institutions, hospitals, Government offices, assembly areas etc. The initiative is a proactive preventive measure aimed at minimising the risk of fire outbreaks and enhancing overall public safety.

In line with this directive, all concerned establishments are advised to apply for a Fire Clearance Certificate and Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) through the official online portal at investmeghalaya.gov.in at the earliest or approach the office of the Superintendent of Police Fire and Emergency Services for assistance.

The District Disaster Management Authority urges all stakeholders to cooperate fully with the authorities to ensure compliance with fire safety norms and to safeguard life and property across the state, stated the Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson (DDMA), East Khasi Hills.
