Shillong, March 10: The two teachers organisation KJDSA and GHSTEA urged the state government to exempt the teacher community from the Census Duties for Teachers.
The KJDSTA and GHDSTEA have expressed great concern on the appointment of the state goverment for many school teachers as the enumerators for the census 2021.
The government appointed at least 5 to 6 teachers from same schools and in some schools where there are only 3 or4 teachers, the government appointed 2 or 3 teachers on census duty.
In many secondary and Higher secondary schools, the school managements have already released their subjects teachers for spot papers evaluation for SSLC/HSSLC Examination 2020 as appointed by MBOSE,Tura.
This special consideration have been scarified by the school concern for the early declaration of the Result as the delayed of the result might affect the study and admission of students who wish to further study outside the states in different lines.
Some teachers are appointed by both duties of MBOSE and census duties. Many school principal, Headmaster or Headmistress are unable to pay the officiating teachers for months.
They have no other alternative but to leave the students in the classroom without teachers. This will badly affect the whole education in the state and the future studies of students both in urban and rural schools areas.
The teacher Associations therefore, urges the government to kindly exempt the census duty for teachers this year. They also urges the SMC to kindly negotiate with the government to exempt census duties for teachers.
The president of KJDSA Mr Kular Khongjirem said the government may appoint and employ many unemployed educated youths for the posts for 3 to 4 months as deem fit and proper by the government. This will also give an opportunity to educated youths not only experiences in the field but also an opportunity for their seasonal employment.
This will also really serve the best interest for education in general and the future studies of the students in particular. Said Mr Kular Khongjirem in the press statement issued to the media houses.
