Shillong, July 07: The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation is pleased to learn from reports that the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah proposes to visit Shillong on July 17, 2021 this month where the state is observing the 186th death anniversary of freedom fighter u U Tirot Sing Syiem.
The orgnisation said that the agenda or purpose of his visit is unknown and whether important and critical issues such as border problems, ILP, CAA, Them Metor, sinking economy will figure in the scheme of things of Shri Shah remains on speculation and hope, yet.
HITO is indeed very happy that such ahigh dignitary will choose to set foot on the soil of none other than our very own legendary martyr U Tirot Sing Syiem on his 186th Death Anniversary. While welcoming the august dignitary to Meghalaya, HITO hopes that Shri Shah will accord sanctity and honour to our Martyr by laying a wreath in his memory.
The orgnsation hope that the MDA government led by Chief Minsiter Mr. Conrad K Sangma facilitates this humble act of obeisance by the Union Home Minister during the discussion will indeed pave the way to a most fruitful and meaningful discussion between the Centre and State in letter and spirit, said Mr Donbok Dkhar President of HITO in the press statement.
