JNC appreciation to the MDA 2.0 for the Government College in Jalaphet village

Shillong, March 19: The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC), Jalaphet Circle, today conducted an on-site inspection of the designated area for the construction of the much-anticipated Government College in Village of Jalaphet Bri- Sumer, East Jaiñtia Hills District, a long-standing demand and aspiration of the people of the region.

During the inspection, the Council led by Shri. Andy Bareh President of the JNC Jalaphet Circle observed that groundwork and initial construction activities have commenced, marking a significant milestone toward fulfilling the educational needs of the district. The JNC Jalaphet Circle expressed satisfaction over the visible progress and acknowledged the efforts made toward realizing this long-pending project.

The Council extends its sincere appreciation to the MDA 2.0 Meghalaya Government for its commitment to addressing the educational infrastructure needs of East Jaiñtia Hills. Special recognition was also conveyed to the MLA of 5-Sutnga Saipung Constituency, Smt. Santa Mary Shylla, for her proactive leadership and initiative in pushing forward this important project, which stands as a testament to the collective aspirations of the people.

While welcoming the commencement of construction, the JNC Jalaphet Circle urged the executing contractor to ensure that the work is carried out with utmost diligence, quality, and efficiency. The Council emphasized that the project must adhere to high standards so that it is completed smoothly and within the stipulated timeframe, reflecting the hopes and dreams of the community it is meant to serve.

The proposed Government College is expected to play a transformative role in enhancing access to higher education in the district. Beyond serving the immediate locality, the institution is envisioned to benefit the entire region and contribute significantly to improving the overall educational standards of the state.
