Shillong, August 10: The North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong is all set to host a mega recruitment drive and Rozgar Mela from 16thto 18th August 2023. The Chief Minister of Meghalaya Shri. Conrad Sangma has kindly consented to be the chief Guest of the Inaugural ceremony.
The current estimated population of the Meghalaya is approximately 38.16 Lakhs and a recent report published on July 19, 2023 by the NitiAayog names Meghalaya poorest state after Bihar.
Around 80 percent of the population is dependent upon agriculture and allied sector, which contributes only 17 percent to the state GDP. Our state is facing job crisis where youths are not getting jobs and this is very serious concerns for the state.
Unemployment has been seen to be one of the causes of poverty and the unemployed should not just rely on the government jobs only but instead, they need to think further ahead – they need to venture into the entrepreneurial fields to gain a sustainable income, they also need to explore the jobs available in the global world. The NEHU via this recruitment drive/Rozgar Mela is trying to bridge the gap.
The drive will have more than 5000 positions for a variety of domains, I’m happy to share that two of the Global Fortune 500 Listed companies namely SODEXO and ADECCO are participatingin the drive.
Along with these two companies, we will be having couple of more companies during the drive. These positions are immediate requirements and the candidates will be expected to join immediately.
I’m also happy to share that more than one third of the positions are reserved for the female candidatesand to be exact the number is 2000+. Female Candidates having 10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma and Graduation in any discipline will be eligible. The Companies along with the salary are offering subsidised food, Cab Facility and many.
The offered positions will be for the PAN India locations with an opportunity to go aboard of course that will be based on the performance of the candidate and as per the rules and policies of the organization. The eligibility starts from 10th /ITI /Diploma /Graduation and the salaries offered by the companies is more than the minimum wages of the state.
NEHU in collaboration with TimesPRO (Ed tech vertical of The Times of India Group) is ready to offer 300 Systems, applications and products (SAP) certification and training to the Technical Graduates for free of cost.
The primary prerequisite for this is the candidate should be the domicile of Meghalaya. The certification & training is for SAP Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP).
The candidates from the steams like IT, CSE, BCA, MCA, MBA (IT, E-Commerce) will be allowed to participate. The training will be given by the SAP certified trainers in physical mode.
