Shillong, Feb 28: Speaking to party leaders at a gathering in Nongpoh organized by the BJP’s Kisan Morcha, which saw hundreds joining the party, State General Secretary Wankitbok Pohshna urged that the time has come for Meghalaya and the Hynñiewtrep people to have leaders who can make their voices heard in Delhi.
He encouraged members to go to their villages and explain to the people that it is necessary to be part of the central government so that pending issues of the state, especially those affecting the Hynñiewtrep community, can be addressed.
He stressed that as leaders or as a party, they cannot solve the problems of the people unless they stand united body and soul with the central government, citing Assam and other states that have progressed under BJP leadership while preserving their identity.
He added that if the people of Meghalaya give BJP a chance, they will receive many benefits, noting that it is because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that people have already begun to receive their rightful shares, and even more will follow if they choose BJP.
Pohshna also emphasized that the Kisan Morcha is crucial in the party because it looks after the needs of farmers, who are the backbone of the nation. He mentioned that the new law introduced by Modi’s government, the Viksit Bharat GRAM-G, will bring many benefits to farming areas in the days to come.
The meeting was also attended by District general secretary Bah Bless Dkhar, state president of Kisan Morcha Bah Durut Majaw, state general secretary of Yuva Morcha Daniel Khonglah and other party leaders from Ri-Bhoi district.
