Ministry of Railway to run passenger special trains New Delhi – Dibrugarh Daily

Maligaon, May 17: The Ministry of Railways had decided to restart passenger train services by initially starting with running of 15 pairs of special train special trains from 12th May, 2020 in specific routes connecting fifteen important cities of the country with New Delhi station only.

In NFR portion two Passenger special trains was proposed to start running with limited stoppages. 02423 / 02424 Dibrugarh – New Delhi – Dibrugarh Daily passenger special started running as per public time table timings from New Delhi with effect from 12.05.2020 and from Dibrugarh with effect 14.05.2020 with stoppages only at Mariyani, Dimapur, Lumding, Guwahati, Kokrajhar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar Jn, Barauni Jn, Danapur, Pd. Dd Upadhyaya Jn, Prayagraj Jn, and Kanpur Central stations during its both way journeys.

And another passenger special train 02501/ 02502 Agartala – New Delhi – Agartala Weekly passenger special will run as per public time table timings from Agartala w.e.f. 18.05.2020 Monday and from New Delhi w.e.f. 20.05.2020 Wednesday with stoppages only at Badarpur Jn, Guwahati, Kokrajhar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar Jn, Barauni Jn, Patliputra, Pd. Dd Upadhyaya Jn and Kanpur Central stations during its both way journey.

02424 passenger special between New Delhi and Dibrugarh was availed by thousands of passengers to reach their destination after getting stranded for a long time. On the very first train which left New Delhi on 12th and reached NFR areas on 13th altogether 925 passenger de-boarded or boarded at various stoppages in between Katihar and Dibrugarh.

Till today morning more than 5000 passenger travelled by the four trips of 02424 passenger special between New Delhi and Dibrugarh. Till yesterday, 773 passengers de-boarded at Katihar, 467 passengers de-boarded at New Jalpaiguri, 567 passengers de-boarded at Guwahati and 887 passengers de-boarded at Dibrugarh. On the other hand 164 passengers from Katihar, 754 from New Jalpaiguri and 466 from Guwahati also boarded the Dibrugarh bound train.

Similarly nearly 4500 passenger boarded and de-boarded in stations within NFR by making journey in 02423 passenger special between Dibrugarh and New Delhi. While, 980 passengers boarded the train from Dibrugarh, 284 boarded from Mariani, 800 from Guwahati, 283 from New Jalpaiguri and 146 from Katihar till yesterday.

So it is evident that a good number of people are availing the newly introduced facility of such passenger special trains. Another similar weekly passenger train service will start from tomorrow. It will connect Agartala in Tripura with New Delhi which will provide connectivity to the people of Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram apart from South Assam districts.

As already notified, ticket booking of these special trains can be done only through IRCTC website (https://www.irctc.co.in). Railway and IRCTC authorized agents are not permitted to book tickets for journey by these special trains for the time being.

It is mandatory for all passengers to wear mask and undergo thermal screening before entering station. Only asymptomatic passengers are being allowed to board the train. It is mandatory for passengers to download Aarogya Setu app in their mobile phones, before commencing their journey. Moreover they will also have to abide by the COVID-19 related medical protocols of the destination states.
