Shillong, April 02: The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) proudly celebrated its 51st Foundation Day on April 2, 2026, at its Corporate Office in Shillong, marking over five decades of dedicated service to the nation’s energy sector.
The programme began with a ceremonial Guard of Honour and the hoisting of the NEEPCO flag, symbolizing the organization’s enduring commitment to excellence.
In his keynote address, the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) lauded NEEPCO’s remarkable journey and its significant contributions to the power sector, particularly in the North Eastern Region. He praised the organization’s consistent efforts, notable achievements, and the dedication of its workforce in delivering excellence across projects and operations. Describing NEEPCO as the hydro arm of NTPC, he emphasized its strategic importance in strengthening the nation’s renewable energy portfolio.
Shri B. Maharana, Director (Finance) delivered the welcome address, highlighting NEEPCO’s journey, achievements, and future vision. In his welcome address, the Director (Finance) expressed immense pride in NEEPCO’s journey of over five decades, highlighting the organization’s transformation into a key pillar of India’s energy landscape.
A documentary showcasing NEEPCO’s journey—from its inception to its current achievements was screened, offering a glimpse into its evolution and milestones. The programme also included the inauguration of the Vigilance Bulletin and concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO).
