Shillong, May 16: The Education Department, Government of Meghalaya, wishes to share further updates with students and parents regarding the allotment of examination centres for CUET (UG) 2025:
The State Government has been in constant coordination with the National Testing Agency (NTA) to increase the number of examination centres for this computer-based test. NTA has been responsive to the situation and is working closely with the State to ensure smooth implementation.
As a result of these efforts, three new centres have been on boarded in Shillong where three new centre allotted to hold CUET examination 2025, St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School with 70 computer nodes, Shillong College with 100 computer nodes, Shillong ITI with 29 computer nodes. These additional centres have allowed for the reallocation of students who were previously assigned to distant examination venues.
According to the latest information received from NTA, a total of 11,309 candidates are scheduled to appear for the exam starting 19th May. Of these, only 1,376 candidates are assigned to centres in Guwahati; the remaining candidates are now scheduled at centres within Meghalaya.
In summary, no student from Meghalaya is now required to travel beyond Guwahati for the CUET (UG) exam. All candidates have been accommodated at centres in Shillong, Tura, or Guwahati, starting from 19th May onwards. The change of centre has already been communicated to the candidates by NTA either through email or message or both.
The State Government remains firmly committed to ensuring that every student from Meghalaya has a fair and accessible opportunity to appear for national-level examinations like CUET. Close coordination with NTA is ongoing to ensure a smooth and successful examination process.
