Shillong, Mar 21: An all-round performance by Shreya R Marak (pictured) helped South Garo Hills District Cricket Association to victory by 21 runs over East Khasi Hills Cricket Association in a rain-reduced U-14 Girls Inter District Cricket T20 Tournament 2023 match in Nongpyndeng, West Khasi Hills, today.
The other scheduled match, however, between Shillong Cricket Association and West Jaintia Hills District Cricket Association, had to be abandoned due to poor weather conditions.
The EKH won the toss and chose to field first and SGH, with the 7 overs available to them, made 52 without loss. Shreya hit an unbeaten 21 with 16 not out made by Kimtera D Sangma at the other end.
In the chase, EKH could only muster 31/6, with the bulk of the runs coming via extras. Shreya bowled 2 overs and claimed 3/5, while Dejiansua M Sangma took 2/12 and Mania Sangma 1/2. Shreya was deservedly named Player of the Match.
