Ampati, July 14: In a coordinated effort to combat the rising issue of drug trafficking, a special operation was conducted on 13th July 2024 by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), South West Garo Hills, along with officers and personnel from Monabari Outpost (OP) and Garobadha Outpost Guard Camp (OGC) in the Borkona area under Monabari OP (Ampati Police Station) jurisdiction.
During this operation, three individuals were apprehended, Mostafa Sheik, 24 years, . Meter Ali, 32 years and Nur Abdin, 24 years all the three are from Assam. The police recovered they 11,000 Methamphetamine tablets (Yaba) weighing 1.06 kilograms, three mobile phones, 2 Motorcycles one kniew were duly seized from their possession:
The Police has been registered the case at Ampati Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and an investigation is currently underway. The South West Garo Hills Police request the public’s cooperation in this ongoing investigation.
The police urge anyone with information about other individuals involved in this illegal activity to come forward and inform their local police station. The identities of informants will be kept confidential, and suitable rewards will be given for valuable information leading to further arrests.
