The 1st JDQC Awards and advance Christmas celebration 2025 held at Ratson Pavilion

Shillong, Dec 15: The Joint Directorate of Health Services hosted the 1st Awards Cum Advance Christmas Celebration on 9th December 2025 at the Ratson Pavilion, marking a significant milestone of recognition, unity, and festive spirit within the health fraternity of Meghalaya.

The event was graced by the presence of Shri Wailadmiki Shylla, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya; Dr. Joram Beda, Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department; and Shri Ramakrishna Chitturi, Mission Director, NHM.

Their participation—alongside all Directors of Health Services from the three Directorates, senior State and District Health Officials, Joint Directors, State Nodal Officers, Medical Superintendents, Medical Officers, Programme Consultants and Managers, and staff from the Health Department, NHM, MHSSP, MHIS, MMDSL, ABDM, and various health institutions across the State—added immense value to the celebration.

The programme highlighted both achievement and aspiration, honouring 15 NQAS-certified health facilities for upholding high standards of quality care. In addition, five special awards were presented for outstanding accomplishments under LaQshya, MusQan, and NABL Certification, recognising excellence in maternal care, child-friendly services, and laboratory quality systems. These achievements mark a major breakthrough for the State and set new benchmarks for future quality initiatives.

In his address, the Hon’ble Health Minister commended the extraordinary commitment of healthcare teams across Meghalaya. He reaffirmed the Government’s dedication to ensuring that quality healthcare becomes accessible and affordable to every citizen, calling for continued cooperation, sincerity, and collective effort from the entire health fraternity.

The event also reflected on the transformative journey of the JDQC since its first meeting on 25th January 2023, evolving into a strong platform promoting quality assurance, accountability, and continuous improvement in public healthcare delivery. Each recognition presented during the programme symbolised discipline, adherence to standards, continuous training, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety.

Beyond the awards, the occasion brought together the State’s health community to celebrate the joy, peace, and unity of the Advance Christmas Celebration, strengthening bonds across institutions and inspiring renewed dedication for the years ahead.

The celebration concluded with a shared sense of encouragement and hope, reinforcing the collective determination to further strengthen Meghalaya’s healthcare system and continue the journey towards excellence.
