The BJP Meghalaya Pradesh celebrated its 47th foundation day in party office

Shillong, April 12: BJP Meghalaya Pradesh celebrated its 47th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and a spirit of unity, marked by a series of felicitation ceremonies and academic recognitions.

In recognition of outstanding contributions and exemplary achievements across various fields, BJP Meghalaya Pradesh felicitated eminent citizens of the State.  Late Martin N. Majaw, honoured posthumously as the architect of the Land Transfer Act, 1971.

Mr. Imei Khonstid, Sordar of Raid Lyting Phra Blang Khyriem Syiemship and Rangbah Shnong of Lyting Lyngdoh for 41 years, in recognition of his dedicated community leadership.

Mrs. Trinity Saioo, Padma Shri awardee, recognised for her remarkable contributions. Mr. Salil Gewali, Noted author, honoured for his internationally acclaimed work “Great Minds of India.”

The programme also celebrated sporting excellence, with felicitation of: Six gold medalists in archery from the 1st Tribal Games held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.Athletes in kickboxing who secured two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal at the Asia Pacific Open Championship held in Bali, Indonesia.

This was followed by the felicitation of distinguished party karyakartas for their dedicated service and contribution to the party’s growth.

The event also featured a prize distribution ceremony for the Inter-College Speech Competition & Seminar. Shillong Law College secured the first position, followed by Shillong College in second place, and K.L. Bajoria College in third place.

The programme was graced by Cabinet Minister Shri Sanbor Shullai and MLA Shri A.L. Hek, along with senior party leaders and karyakartas.

The celebration reflected the party’s commitment to recognising excellence, encouraging youth participation, and strengthening grassroots engagement.
