Shillong Nov 8: Meghalaya Chief Minister Mr Conrad K. Sangma on Saturday along with Education Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui and local MLA Wailadmiki Shylla and senior officials inspected the proposed site for the Mini Secretariat at Ladthadlaboh in Jowai. The concept of the Mini Secretariat is to ensure efficiency in the delivery of services to the people and the citizens.
‘The endeavour of the government has always been to improve the overall governance in the State Having a district or a mini Secretariat will ensure that the citizens of the district can avail all the services from one location since all the departments will be located under one roof.
Mr Cornad said that they strongly feel that this particular decision to set up mini secretariats will go a long way in improving the overall governance in the district and the delivery of the services at the grassroot level’, the Chief Minister said.
‘The location that we have just surveyed looks like one of the best locations being in the heart of Jowai town. It has sufficient space and is also well connected, so therefore this seems to be a very appropriate location and we will now start to work at the earliest to ensure that this project is initiated and is complete at the earliest’, he further added.
