The DDUCCSD of NEHU conducts skill up-gradation training  on makeup and hair styling

Shillong, August 30: The DeenDayal Upadhyay Community College for Skill Development (DDUCCSD), a constituent college of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), successfully conducted a five-day Skill Up-gradation Training Programme.

In the trainng focusing on “Floral Design and  Bouquet Making” and “Makeup & Hair Styling.” The event was held from August 26 to 30, 2024, at the college premises in Wahiajer, Jowai, West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya.

The training programme, which attracted a diverse group of 100 enthusiastic participants from the local community, aimed to enhance the vocational skills of rural youth, empowering them with practical knowledge in floral design, bouquet making, makeup, and hairstyling. The participants, eager to improve their abilities and earn a sustainable livelihood, engaged actively in the sessions.

Prof. P.S. Shukla, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of NEHU, lauded the initiative, emphasizing the university’s commitment to uplifting the skill set of rural youths in the community.

He commended the programme’s success and pledged to further enhance such essential skill development initiatives that help individuals secure better employment opportunities.

“The skills imparted through this programme are not only essential for personal growth but also play a significant role in the economic empowerment of the community.

NEHU remains dedicated to supporting and expanding these initiatives to ensure that the youth of our region can thrive in today’s competitive job market,” Prof. Shukla stated.

The Skill Up-gradation Training Programme marks another milestone in DDUCCSD’s ongoing efforts to provide quality skill development opportunities to the people of Meghalaya, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the region.
