The DSEO of WGH district propose to recruit teachers in deficit HSS

Tura, Jan 23: Social activist Mr. Cherian Momin in the letter sent to sent to the District Schools Education Officer of West Garo Hills District appreciating, on the proposed advertisement on vacant post in the deficit Higher secondary School in the district

The Social activist said that there are several teaching posts are reportedly lying vacant in Deficit Higher Secondary Schools under West Garo Hills District, including multiple vacant posts in Jana Priya Higher Secondary School, Bholarbhita.

There is serious apprehension that the proposed advertisement of these vacant posts may be undertaken without strict compliance with the State Reservation (Roster) Policy.

Government notifications and office orders clearly mandate the application of the reservation roster to all sanctioned posts in Government-aided and Deficit Grant-in-Aid educational institutions, except in cases where advertisements were issued prior to 24th August 2024.

It is pertinent to state that no such advertisement was issued before the said cut-off date in respect of the vacant posts concerned.

Concerns have also been raised that attempts may be made to bypass the Reservation Policy through back-dated orders or by issuing advertisements for single posts at different times. Such practices, if permitted, would defeat the principles of transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity in public recruitment.

The concerned authorities are urged to ensure that any advertisement or appointment to Deficit Higher Secondary Schools under West Garo Hills District strictly adheres to the State Reservation Policy in letter and spirit.

Public interest demands that the recruitment process remains fair, lawful, and accountable. This submission is issued in the larger public interest for the information of the media and the public at large.
