Shillong, March 20: The first event of the MGPS Junior and Amateur Tour 2021 teed off this morning at 7.30 AM at the pristine Shillong Golf Course.Mr Rocky Hek – Executive Member – MGPS did the honors with the inaugural tee off.
The first day of the two-day tournament saw 14 Junior participants across Category 1,2&3Junior categories. The event is conceptualised and conducted by Meghalaya Golf Promoters’ Society (the state Association for Golf in Meghalaya) with the support of Shillong Club Ltd. (Golf Section).
MGPS is affiliated to the Indian Golf Union and is keen to promote Golf in the region with their support.GolfTrade,Champs for Life Academy and Varun Beverages have supported the event.The second and final round of the event will be played on 27th March 2021 followed by the Prize Distribution on 28th March 2021.The stars of the event were the 5 year old kids Aryan Bajaj,MamatwaJhunjhunwala and Sharanya Bajaj
In Category 1 ThongvanglenHangsing is leading with 91 followed by Sidhant Singhania at 94 and ShauryaGoenka at 102.In Category 2 Da-I-PayaDkhar is leading at 52,Shivaai Agarwal at 55 ,Deep Bajaj at 56 and Ryan Pargal Lyngdoh at 59 followed by Muskan Singhania at 65 and Pratham Jhunjhunwala at 70.
In Category 3 ,5 year old Aryan Bajaj displayed stunning performace and is leading with 12 strokes at 31 followed by MamatwaJhunjhunwala at 43 and Sharayna Bajaj at 45.
