Shillong, March 23: The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Assembly (KJPA) will hold Hosanna 2026, a Gospel Musical Evening cum Food Fest, on 28 March 2026, Saturday, at madan Jrisaleiñ, Jowai.
The Food Fest will start from 1pm and will continue till the end of the concert which will start at 4PM.The purpose of holding the event is to raise funds and support the mission works of the KJPA.
The renowned gospel artistes who will take the stage and minister includes a prominent gospel band from Mizoram, known as Magdalene, Shillong-based MANE Music Ministry, Medaker Kharkongor, Elev8 Choir, Teiboklang Togper, El King, the pastoral-trio featuring Rev,D. lyngdoh, Rev. T. Dkhar & Rev. K.Syiemlieh.
The musical evening will also witness the enriching choral renditions of the special choirs representing the four Synods including standing choirs of Synod Mihngi, Synod Sepngi, Synod Pdeng and Ri-Bhoi Synod.
The unique feature of the event, is the presence and participation of Aizawl-based Christian band, Magadelene, who music ministry has achieved prominence through their meaningful songs carrying the good news of faith, life and spiritual peace.
Formed in 2005, Magdalene has performed in various places in India, featuring members like Steward Lalrochama (vocals) and Victor Vanlalhruaia (guitars), the band made a comeback after 2013, releasing new music like “Paradis” and performing at festivals like ShiRock 2025.
The band has released the album Life Beyond Death (2006) featuring tracks like “Nick of Time” and “Heaven or Hell”. Known for songs like”Save Me” and “Paradis” (2023).
The gathering will witness the presence of a Chief Guest, Rev. P. Myrchiang, Moderator, KJP Synod Mighngi and Mr. D.Langstang, besides the presence of pastors, church elders, special guests, office bearers of the Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Assembly and the various Synods.
As intended for Hosanna 2026 to be organized a day before Palm Sunday, a historical event in the Bible where Jesus Christ before his crucifixion and resurrection made a monumental entry into Jerusalem, in which palm branches were offered by the crowd to worship him.
The preparation running up to the day is in full swing, where the volunteers are working together with the district administration and the traffic police to organize the movement and parking of vehicles.
The preparation for the food fest is also underway as the women’s wings of the three Synods and the KJPA English Service, Police Bazar are set to plate local and multi- cuisines, some of which are exclusive delicacies.
The KJPA Assembly and I as a Convener of the fund raising committee Foreign Mission Board, we extend our invitation to everyone and urge upon the members of the KJPA to invite friends and family members who are gospel music lovers to the event.
