The MLA Subir inaugurated Digital Library and new L.P. School building at Damalgre

Ampati, March 5, 2025: The MLA of 52–Rangsakona Constituency, Shri Subir Marak, inaugurated the newly constructed Lower Primary (L.P.) School building and a Digital Library at Damalgre L.P. School during a formal programme held at the school premises on March 5.

Shri Subir Marak, who also serves as the Chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Board, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the facilities by cutting the ribbon. The initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening educational infrastructure and promoting digital learning in the rural areas of South West Garo Hills district.

The programme began with a welcome address delivered by the Block Development Officer of Rerapara C&RD Block, Shri Cheman D Shira, MCS, who welcomed the dignitaries, teachers, students, and members of the local community. Students of Damalgre L.P. School presented a welcome song to greet the guests and set the tone for the programme.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Raymond Z. D. Shira, MCS, Project Director of DRDA and Additional Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, highlighted the importance of quality education, improved infrastructure, and community participation in shaping the future of students.

In his address, Chief Guest Shri Subir Marak emphasised the government’s continued commitment to strengthening rural education and ensuring that students in remote areas have access to better learning opportunities through improved infrastructure and digital resources.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the District School Education Officer (DSEO), Ampati, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, officials, teachers, and the community members for their cooperation and support in making the event a success.
