Maligaon, April 22: In a bid to further improve transportation of freight traffic, N. F. Railway has been continuously taking initiatives for easier transportation of various goods by customers. This is expected to benefit transporters in a big way along with development of local economy.
To improve customer interface and further augment freight transportation, Moinarband station under Lumding division has been developed for handling of stone chips. Due to strategic marketing efforts, first rake of stone chip has been loaded on 21-03-2023.
Further, a Memorandum of Understanding for Indian Customs Yard (ICY) and Nepal Custom Yard (NCY) operations at Indo Nepal Border has been finalized at the zonal level.
Joint Tripartite Inspection among the Customs, IRCON and Railway has been conducted on 29-03-2023 in order to operationalize the cross border traffic movement between India and Nepal.
Moreover, due to planned marketing efforts, 8.5 rake containing potatoes have been booked from Alipurduar Division which brought additional freight revenue during the month of March, 2023.
Improvement of customer interface and opening of new terminals leads to increase loading and unloading of freight trains. As a result of which revenue of N.F. Railway will significantly grow in the coming years.
