Shillong, April 93: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is celebrating its much-awaited annual cultural extravaganza, SHISHIR2025, from April 3-5, 2025,in the permanent campus at Sohra.
This year, the festival is very special for all of us, marking a historic milestone as it is being hosted for the first time inthe permanent campus.SHISHIR is a platform of celebration of art, music, and cultural diversity, bringing together students and enthusiasts from across the region and beyond.
The festival boasts an impressive lineup of events, competitions, and mesmerizing performances by renowned artists.Here, amidst theharmonious blend of nature and culture, you will be transported toa realm where time stands still, allowing you to relive momentsof pure magic.Shishir is not just an event; it’s a canvas of dreams, a stage of passion, and a celebration of creativity.
It is where melodies take flight, stories come alive, and every beat, every rhythm, and every expression speak the language of art. We are pleased to inform you that during the inauguration of SHISHIR 2025, we have with us Respected Shri. A. Wanshai Shynret, Deputy Director, NEIAH Shillong as the Chief Guest, Respected Kumari AnendyaRaajsshre, IAS (SDO, AmlaremCivil Sub-Division, West Jaintia Hills) as the Guest of Honor and our Respected Director, Professor Pinakeswar Mahanta Ji and we are grateful for their kind presences and valuable time for us.
They are hosting a mesmerizing classical performance by the legendary personality, Pandit Satish Vyas (Padma Shri) Ji on the first day of SHISHIRfrom the SPIC-MACAY Heritage Club to put a tribute to the Indian Classical Music.
On the second day, we are keeping a power-packed concert by the sensational Bollywood playback singer, Tushar Joshi, known for his chart-topping hits and electrifying stage presence in our campus. In this cultural fest, we are organizing several performances such as PANACHE, SHIMMER, SYMPHONY, Battle of Bands, Flash Mob, Step Up etc to name a few.
The Dance and Drama Club of SAC is actively engaged in conducting Drama Play performances and doing experiments with filmmaking techniques andshowcasing talents of the students in a compact and excitingformat.
The Literary Club is organizing the following events: Open-Mic and Extempore Speech by our students. From the Photography and Fine Arts Club, we are hostingvarious activities e.g.
Reel Making Competition, Photowalk etc among the students. they have also kept the Food Fest and Cultural Exhibition from the EBSB Club.they must mention that thier students are whole-heatedly participating in these events to make SHISHIR 2025 a great success. Students from other institutes from Shillong also joined us to celebrate the beautiful environment of the cultural festival at NIT Meghalaya.
