Shillong, Dec 05: There are Three Officers, Five personnel of Meghalaya Civil Defence & Home Guards Organization and Two Home Guards volunteers were awarded Commendation Disc and Certificate from the Director General Fire Services, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi on the eve of the 61st Raising Day of Civil Defence and Home Guards.
Shri PH Khongsngi, Commandant, Border Wing Home Guards Battalion was awarded the DGCD, MHA, New Delhi, Gold Disc.
Shri B Sahkhar, 2nd in Command, Border Wing Home Guards Battalionand Smti S Langstieh, Superintendent, Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guards, Meghalaya was awarded the DGCD, MHA, New Delhi, Silver Disc whereas Shri SCR Sangma, Deputy Controller of Civil Defence, West Garo Hills District was awarded the Bronze Disc.
Four other uniformed personnel and 2 (Two) Home Guards Volunteers were awarded the DGCD, MHA, New Delhi, Bronze Disc. Altogether 211 Commendation Disc & Certificate comprising of 1 Gold Disc, 8 Silver Disc and 202 Bronze Disc were awarded by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of the 62ndRaising Day of Civil Defence and Home Guards.
