Shillong, Jan 10: A special session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly is proposed to be held on 20th January 2020 for ratification of the Constitution (One Hunred and twenty sixth Amendment) Bill, 2019 which relates to extension of reservation of the seats for the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes.
The Bill has been passed by both houses of parliament in December 2019, and it has now to be ratified by the state Assemblies before presented to the president for his assent. said the Commissioner and secretary Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Dr Andrew Saimon in the press statement issued today.
