Shillong, April 20: Today the BSF troops deployed in East Jaintia Hills distt recovered one muzzle loaded Single Barrel Gun from Umkiang area in East Jaintia Hills District.
In another incident BSF troops deployed on international border in South West Khasi Hills distt, apprehended a person namely Pradip K Polin (35 yrs) R/O Vill-Munai, PO/PS-Ranikor, distt-South West Khasi Hills and seized six Detontor, six Dorica Gillatine type Indian explosive 25 mm size & 125 gm weight, eleven Safety Fuse while moving on one Yamaha motorcycle registration No-ML05J-6810 in suspicious condition. This person who works as mason in a Bridge construction Company has been handed over to PS Ranikore with seized explosive for further legal action.
During last one week, BSF troops apprehended two Indian smuggler and also seized 540 Btls Liquor, wooden logs worth more than Rs. 2 Lacs and other contraband items worth over Rs. 3 Lacs while being smuggled out from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended Indian smuggler and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and taking legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
