Shillong November 26:Denouncing the recent militants attack on former deputy chief minister and Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) working president Deborah C Marak the Chief Secretary to the government of Meghalaya WMS Pariat said violence by any group and taking law and order into their own hand is not acceptable.
While talking to reporters on Monday, Pariat condemned the recent attack by the militant group against MPCC working president Deborah Marak. Highlighting on the present status of the proscribe militant outfit Pariat said a memorandum has been submitted by the ANVC to government of India and the matter has been examine both by the central and state government there have been certain issues that needs to be resolved before any agreement is adapted.
Meanwhile, Pariat also condemned those involved in murdering one labourer from Mawlai by a group of people. Condemning the illegal act the chief Secretary said no body should take the law into its own hand, however law should be maintained and enforced by only law enforcing body and no other organisation. Accordiingly, the Chief Secretary said that the law has proceeded as per requirements.(SP News)
