Congress workers look up to Salseng for leadership in Meghalaya

Shillong, Januarty 05: While the top leaders of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) are busy in Delhi to finalist the name of the Candidate for the upcoming assembly election which is due on the month March, Congress grassroots worker want Mr Salseng CH Marak to be the leader to lead the next government.

Many Congress workers, who spoke to SP News Agency, recall how Mr Salseng runs the government for five years in spite of having collation government from 1993 to 1998. Durig his tenure there is no infighting among the Congress leaders, but at present the theory of seniority which the congress follows has been kept at the back.

The delay in declaring the tickets is mainly due to the infighting among the congress leaders, it appears clearly in the constituency of Rajabala how can a senior congress leaders  a sitting legislator will not get the ticket, the AICC has to rethink many times on this issued.

The mistake what they have committed in Jirang Constituency where the sitting MLA and former Chief Minister Mr JD Rymbai did not get the party ticket because the in fighting in the party. The lost of one constituency is a great lost to the party. (SP News)
