Shillong July 31: The District Magistrate East Khasi Hill District, Shillong has promulgated an under sedction 144Cr PC prohibiting Assembly of 5 or more person within 200 metre radius of the Meghalaya High Court and carrying of arms and other lethal weapons or any other item or materials having the potential to be used as a weapon which can caused grievous injury or harm to any person or person.
The order has been enforce inview of the information receive that the HANM wiil be holding sit in Demonstration on 1st and 2nd 2014 at Meghalaya High Court and surrounding areas in against the protest against the sitting of the National Green Tribunal(NGT) and the band on the production and sale of coal in the state of Meghalaya which result in breach of peace tranquility and many result into loss of life and property.
This order will not be applicable to the security forces and government officers on official duty.
The Order will come into force with Immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.(SP News)
