Fake currency come to India through Bangladesh, 1 Bangladeshi apprehended

Shillong, November 28:The Border Security Force after getting  specific input, the roops of BOP Purakhasia ex-114 Bn BSF deployed in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya apprehended one Bangladeshi FICN racketeer namely Tariq Hosan Sarkar Muttakin (17 yrs) s/o Hazi Shohdullah Sarkar, r/o Vill- Baruajani, PS-Nalitabari, Distt–Sherpur (Bangladesh) at Purakhasia Bazar while he was waiting for indian accomplice at Purakhasia market. During search, party recovered FICN face value Rs 24,000/- (Denomination 24 X 1000) & 01 Mobile with two BD SIM from his possession.

The seized FICN was being smuggled from Bangladesh and was meant for circulation in the Indian market. BSF is keeping a strict vigil/surveillance and having effective intelligence network along the India-Bangladesh border to nab the FICN racketeers.

The BSF posted at  Tuka in East Khasi Hills district seized 12 Nos of cattle worth approx. Rs. 69,000/-( Sixty nine thousands rupees only) while being smuggled into Bangladesh. BSF has always been on the lookout against the cattle smugglers.

Accordingly BSF along with Meghalaya police is laying Mobile check post on converging points to intercept Cattle going towards Border for smuggling as after reaching on Zero line, due to terrain, interception becomes difficult.

Apprehended persons and seized items have been handed over to concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.(SP News)
