Shillong, July 28: The government of Meghalaya is still continuing with the 10 percent economy cut on creation of new post every year from the annual budget from each department.
Speaking to SP News Agency principal secretary finance BK Dev Verma said that this policy is government is still continuing, it not only on the creation of new post even traveling for government servant and political appointees have to travel on economy class in the plane.
Answering to queries, the principal secretary said that thus newly appointed person in different government department they were appointed on contract basses and the salary for them come from the plan scheme.
For political appointees so far there is not restriction on their traveling expenses but they have to get the approval of the fiancé department if they want to go for any official tour.
The 10 percent cut that each department taken as austerity measure the money was kept in the contingency fund of the government which have raised upto 105 cores. These money can be used for any program of the government which dose not have any budget provision.(SP News)
